Alumnae Association

The Alumnae Association is a non-governing body of Lambda Theta Alpha encompassing all active alumnae and graduates within the sisterhood. A board comprised of a chair, co-chair, secretary, and treasurer oversees the Alumnae Association. The Association promotes philanthropy and civic engagement among members of our organization. The Alumnae Association is responsible for overseeing the Pave the Way Foundation, which is a function of the Association and not a separate body, and promoting the giving of talent and wealth by alumnae in support of the mission of Lambda Theta Alpha. The Association is not to be confused with the National Alumnae Executive Board which provides governance and oversees operation for alumnae and graduate sisters and chapters.

Goals of the Association

  • Promote philanthropy among members of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. in accordance with our principles and organizational mission;
  • Establish and promote charitable support of our organization’s civic engagements from the general public;
  • Provide technical and fiscal support to sisters/chapters/areas providing philanthropic, civic, and charitable services in their communities;
  • Ensure the effectiveness and successful operation of the Pave the Way Foundation; and
  • Work in conjunction with the NAEB to provide social, educational, and networking services to alumnae and graduate sisters

Desired Outcomes

  • Philanthropy and civic engagement is accepted as a central, core value to Lambda Theta Alpha and its members;
  • Lambda Theta Alpha will be recognized as a national leader in philanthropy and civic engagement among Latinos and other underserved communities;
  • Sisters will receive quality and timely assistance from Association members;
  • Pave the Way Foundation will meet established fiscal goals and continuously achieve its core mission; and
  • A well established and growing partnership between both the Association and the NAEB
